Joyent, a global provider of cloud computing software and services, has announced it has completed an $85 million funding round, with European group Weather Investment II providing the majority of the round.

Cloud computing solutions provider Joyent announced last week the newest version of its cloud operating system, SmartDataCenter 6.
As stated in the company’s press release, the integrated suite of software and services is designed for service providers and enterprises to launch and operate public, private and hybrid clouds. Joyent was recently positioned by Gartner in the Visionaries Quadrant of the 2010 Cloud Infrastructure as a Service and Web Hosting Magic Quadrant.
